“Play it Again, Ithaca” – Puts Musical Instruments into the Hands of Children

(Ithaca) A record number of musical instruments were put into the hands of children in the Ithaca City School District (ICSD) this past year through the “Play it Again, Ithaca” instrument-recycling program. “It was an amazing response,” said Coordinator Suzanne Snedeker. “We reached out to the community, and the number of our donations tripled in 2018-19.”

Little Apple Fall Follies Oct 5


The Fine Arts Booster Group (FABG), an affiliate of IPEI, welcomes all to attend the Little Apple Fall Follies (LAFF), a variety show produced by the Rotary and Savage Clubs to support the arts, on October 5, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ithaca High Performing Arts Center, 1405 N. Cayuga Street. This family friendly event features talented Ithacans as well as Ithaca High School students. The concession stand will be brimming with homemade baked goods. Audition for DeWitt Musical

Dear DeWitt Students,

Auditions for Frozen are this week. You can audition by yourself, with a friend or even as a trio - whatever makes you comfortable. Prepare to sing a 20-30 second vocal piece that best showcases you. Your song does not have to be from Frozen. Also, be prepared to tell a short story of a memorable moment at school. Sign up outside of Mr. Woodridge’s room for a 5 minute time slot.

Auditions for Frozen are: Tuesday 24th 3:30-5:30 (No Bus) Wednesday 25th 2:30-5:00pm (Bus available at 5:00pm) Thursday 26th 3:30-5:53pm (No Bus) Friday 27th 3:30-5:00pm(Bus available at 5:00pm)

Everything will be done in room E201 and Music Office unless a needed change happens.

Mark your calendars - FABG General Meeting Oct 16 5:30 State of the Arts


(ITHACA) The Fine Arts Booster Group (FABG), an affiliate of IPEI, will hold a general meeting Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Ithaca High School Performing Arts Center Kulp Auditorium Lounge, 1401 N. Cayuga Street. The Fine Arts Booster Group supports all the arts in the elementary and secondary schools in the Ithaca City School District (ICSD).The meeting is open to parents/caregivers, staff, students, and community members.

10th Annual Little Apple Fall Follies benefits the arts in the ICSD

Once again the Rotary and Savage Clubs of Ithaca are teaming up with the Ithaca City School District’s Fine and Performing Arts Program for the 10th Annual Little Apple Fall Follies, aka LAFF. This two-hour show features a wide array of talented local performers, with 100% of the proceeds going to community grants and area youth arts programs.

Congrats Boynton Band and Orchestra students!

Boynton Middle School Students, Lyndon Hess (orchestra) and Jacob Merrill (band), were chosen as Honorable Mention Recipients for the 2019 NYSSMA Call for Compositions Competition. Making it on to this list is an achievement of the highest order for students from New York State Schools. It recognizes their effort for writing original compositions for small or large ensembles.
