The Fine Arts Booster Group (FABG) is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with the Ithaca (New York) City School District to support and celebrate all the arts for all the kids. FABG is an affiliate of the Ithaca Public Education Initiative.

Shout out! to the colleagues who made the field trip to see the Dallas Brass in KULP Auditorium possible. Over 600 students from South Hill Elementary, Caroline, BJM, Enfield, Fall Creek, Cayuga Heights, Boynton Middle School and IHS attended!

Please forward a warm thank you to all teachers and staff who were a part of making this experience for students possible.

Dallas Brass Band Visits ICSD

Dallas Brass Give Kids Concert at Kulp

The Dallas Brass, one of the premiere brass ensembles in the world, will perform a concert and masterclass at Ithaca High School, Kulp Auditorium, on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at 10:00am. Over 500 Ithaca City School District student musicians will attend. The Dallas Brass will also perform side-by-side with their community partner, the Ithaca Concert Band, in a 7:00pm concert on Tuesday, March 19th, at Ford Hall in the Whalen Center for Music on the campus of Ithaca College. Concert Admission will be $10.00 per person.

The Dallas Brass visit is sponsored the the Fine Arts Booster Group, an Affiliate of the Ithaca Public Education Initiative, the Boynton Band Fund and Ticket Sales from the evening concert at Ithaca College.

Spring Mini-Grants and JEMM Grant Announced

The Fine Arts Booster Group (FABG), an affiliate of IPEI, has awarded $4,210 in grants to Ithaca City School District (ICSD) programs that will reach over 1,000 students. Grant funds are made possible through Fine Arts Booster Group performance booklet ad sales and donations. The boosters produce performance booklet programs for middle and high school concerts and plays, totaling over thirty events each year. District arts events are open to all, a calendar and future grant deadlines can be found at www.fabgithaca.org.

The Josh Endo Memorial Award for the Continuing Support of Music Education (JEMM) was awarded to support elementary instrument rentals and secondary instrumental music trips....(read more)

The Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts, in partnership with the Fine Arts Booster Group (FABG), an affiliate of IPEI, is offering a creative retreat for teachers of the Ithaca City School District (ICSD) teachers and other districts in Tompkins County during the February and April school breaks. The program is designed to provide residency-type retreats for local teachers in the following disciplines: creative writing, photography/film/video, and painting/sculpture/visual art. FINE ARTS BOOSTER GROUP AWARDS GRANTS TO SUPPORT ITHACA ARTS EDUCATION

The Fine Arts Booster Group (FABG), an affiliate of IPEI, has awarded $4,620 in grants to 12 Ithaca City School District (ICSD) programs that will reach 1,180 students. Grant funds are made possible through Fine Arts Booster Group donations and performance programs ad sales sponsorships. The boosters produce performance booklet programs for middle and high school concerts and plays, totaling over thirty five events each year. District arts events are open to all, a calendar can be found at www.fabgithaca.org or on the district web page.

DeWitt Presents Addams Family Musical

Join us and experience this whimsical, delightful musical comedy, featuring all your favorite creepy, kooky Addams Family characters! Come get your graveyard on with DeWitt Middle School’s Drama Club students as they portray America’s favorite ghoulish family with an affinity for all things macabre! The cast and crew have been hard at work preparing for five upcoming performances of The Addams Family, this December 13, 14, 15 at 7pm and December 15 and 16 at 2pm, 2018 in the DeWitt Middle School Theatre in Ithaca, New York. The Addams Family, a beloved 60s TV show turned movie and Broadway musical, became beloved all over again, with everyone’s favorite characters returning – including Morticia, Gomez, Wednesday, Pugsley, Grandma, Fester and Lurch....(read more)
